GAYATRI MANTRA

Gayatri Mantra

Om bhur bhuvaha svaha

Tat savitur varenyam

Bhargo devasya dhimahi

Dhiyo yonah prachodayat

May the lord guide us towards the righteous path, enlightening us by removing our ignorance. O Almighty Lord may we pray to you, who is the embodiment of spiritual energy, remover of all suffering, who bequeaths all happiness to us, who is the manifestation of knowledge and light. To you O lord, O great spiritual light we pray to illuminate our minds with intellect and wisdom by removing our sins and acts of ignorance.

MAHA MRITYUNJAYA MANTRA

Om tryambhakam yajamahe

Sugandhim pushtivardhanam

Urvarukamiva bandhanan

Mrityor mukshiya maamritat

- from the Mahanarayana Upanishad, in the Taittiriya Samhita of Krishna Yajurveda

We pray to Lord Shiva whose eyes are the Sun, Moon and Fire.

May He protect us from all disease, poverty and fear

And bless us with prosperity, longevity and good health.

Asato maa sadgamaya

Tamaso maa jyotirgamaya

Mrityor maa amritam gamaya

Om shaanti shaanti shaanti

From the unreal, lead us to the Real; from darkness, lead us unto Light; from death, lead us to Immortality. May all be happy. May all be healthy. May we all experience what is good and let no one suffer.
